Greetings from Grand Canyon National Park!
Since this was my first time at a national park, I wasn't ready for the vastness of this magnificent place. I was overwhelmed and pleasantly excited to view such a visual treasure. My brother and I took my 90 year-old Dad there because he wanted to see the place. They took a helicopter ride to view the entire Canyon and were enthralled with its beauty. It was my Dad's last trip but one he thoroughly enjoyed. We all loved seeing the rock formations and were amazed at the colors and variations. A true national treasure!
P.S. I support the parks because… I watched the PBS special on our national parks. Europe has its ancient architecture and art treasures and we have these vast, natural unique areas.
Grand Canyon National Park
Found on the Colorado Plateau in Arizona, the Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most studied geologic landscapes in the world. The canyon, created when drainage systems carved the semi-arid desert, offers a record of three of the four eras of geologic time and supports five of the seven life zones. The park protects endemic and threatened species and rare ecosystems like the boreal forest.
