Greetings from Muir Woods National Monument!

In 2008, I took a trip west with my (then) girlfriend and visited Muir Woods, Yosemite, Point Reyes and then all the way up to Grand Teton. It was the trip that really brought us together. I remember spending so many peaceful moments with her and realizing how in love I was. Three years later, I proposed to her just outside Cape Hatteras National Seashore and we got married this year. The parks will always mean something to our love.

P.S. I support the parks because… they are the best of America. They are truly the most special places we have left that haven't been sacrificed to development or resource needs.

Muir Woods National Monument

It’s possible, after a walk of less then half a mile in Muir Woods National Monument, to completely forget that downtown San Francisco is less than 15 miles away. This relatively small monument, which is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, contains unparalleled diversity of plants and animals: many ferns, wildflower, birds, and small mammals all call the park home.
